By Nao H. Kauffman
Chief Editor

Fresh green vegetables are now available. You can easily find seasonal vegetables like local grown asparagus anywhere in the world, but Hokkaido actually has a large production of larger and more tasteful asparagus. Asparagus Marinade is a quick and simple style of cooking. It will go well with oriental, western or Chinese dishes.

Ingredient (serving two):

-3-5 sticks of Asparagus

-2 tablespoon graded white sesame

-1 tablespoon soy sauce or tsuyu

-1 teaspoon sugar

Directions:

•  Peel off the hard part of asparagus skin around roots.

•  Boil asparagus in salty hot water for 3-5 minutes.

•  Cool down in iced water and slice them into appropriate length.

•  Mix the seasoning above.

•  Place the asparagus into the seasoning mixture for 30 minutes covered in the refrigerator.

•  Serve.

Enjoy!
