In the last edition, I introduced a popular seasoning “Shiokouji.” This time, I would like to introduce a variety of recipes using the seasoning. You can check how to make Shikouji from our online archive, the August 24th edition, No. 218.
A. Tomato Cheese Salad
One tomato (sliced)
1/4 cup thinly sliced onion
Sliced white American cheese
Chopped Aojiso / parsley
One teaspoon Shiokouji
One or two tablespoon PONZU dressing
B. Rib Eye Steak
Just marinate the steak with Shiokouji for 30 minutes to one hour.
Cook the steak in the frying pan or on the grill!
The steak will be juicy and tender!
C. Egg Sandwich
One tablespoon shiokouji
Oil or butter
1. Beat the eggs in the bowl and mix with the seasoning.
2. Heat the pan and fry eggs to make scrambled egg.
3. Paste Mayo in the bun and put the scrambled egg.
1/2 teaspoon Shiokouji paste
One tablespoon honey/sugar
One tablespoon Lemon Juice
One cup water
Use a little bit hot water to mix honey and shiokouji. Then, mix all together in a glass and ice cubes to serve.
