I am introducing a few Japanese phrases that you can use with your child from the time he/she gets up in the morning until your little one goes to bed. Speaking Japanese with your child at home is fun, and makes it easier to remember. Enjoy Japanese life with family and friends!

・ゴールデンウィーク(週末)はどこに行ったの? (Golden Week /Shuumatsu wa doko ni itta no?)
Where did you go on Golden Week/last weekend?
・ゴールデンウィーク(週末)は楽しかった?(Golden Week /Shuumatsu wa tanoshikatta?)
Did you have fun on Golden Week/last weekend?
・何してきたの? (Nani shite kitano?) What did you do?
・ 何かおいしいもの食べた?(Nanika oishii mono tabeta?) Did you eat something special?
・ それは良かったね。(Yokattane.) / I’m good to hear that.
・ 弘前の桜はいつが見ごろ? (Hirosaki no sakura wa itsu ga migoro?)
When is a good time to see the Cherry blossoms at Hirosaki Castle?
・ もうとっくに見ごろは終わったよ。 (Mou tokkuni migoro wa owatta yo.)
All the cherry blossoms at Hirosaki Castle are gone already.
・ 見逃しちゃったね。また来年見に行こうね。(Minogashi chatta ne. Mata rainen mini ikou ne.)
We missed it this year. We will see it next year.
・ 来年のゴールデンウィークはディズニーランドに行きたいな。(Rainen no Golden Week wa Tokyo Disney Land ni ikitai na.)
I want to go to Tokyo Disney Land on Golden Week next year.
